please read in entirety before you judge me, i'm not just some stupid stoner, i'm a very intelligent person who may or may not enjoy cannabis.
Personally, I believe the laws regarding cannabis are far too harsh. The history of cannabis prohibition in America is one of extreme racism, lies and ignorance. My own government classifies me as a criminal for using a PLANT that has NEVER, in the entire history of mankind, harmed a single person. How is it that cannabis, the plant that cannot cause human death by ingestion, be illegal? All the while, tobacco use in this country alone kills 460,000 people every year. That’s over 45 American lives lost EVERY HOUR.
The WAR ON DRUGS is a complete and utter FAILURE. Instead of spending BILLIONS OF TAXPAYER dollars enforcing ignorant laws, we need to LEGALIZE and regulate cannabis for responsible users the same way we do alcohol and tobacco. Turn the spending deficit into a MONEY MAKING machine by taking the power out of the hands of no-good-low-life drug dealers and turn it into a taxable, legal trade. The day that cannabis is made legal, is the day that ALL drug dealers, Mexican cartels, and countless other thugs go OUT OF BUSINESS.Also, with the prohibition of cannabis for recreational/medicinal use, comes the prohibition of hemp. Hemp is THE ONLY LOGICAL way this country will ever see a decrease in the thirst for foreign oil. Hemp is a wonderful, amazingly useful plant when it comes to humans, especially in today’s world. Hemp can be used to make everything from food, clothing, shelter, plastics, FUEL (something this country would GREATLY benefit from) and the list goes on. From current knowledge, hemp can be used to make more than 20,000 products, who knows how many other products we could make out of hemp if it were lawful to grow in this country, the possibilities are endless.I feel EXTREMELY BETRAYED by my government and country. The ignorance, hypocrisy, and personal interests/agendas of the people that are supposed to be representing the citizens of these UNITED STATES (YOU) will not be tolerated any longer. I, for one, am standing up for what i believe in. I would like to see this country thrive and prosper, but with the way things are going right now with our government and economy, that will NEVER be possible. Someone has to stand up and speak out for COMMON SENSE.
I strongly suggest that you research cannabis (both marijuana and hemp) for yourself, I know that you will come to the same conclusion that many Americans, including myself, already have.
