WE LICENSE BEATS
About Me
In a once artful game now jaded by dreams of six figure contracts and booty-shaking club singles, its hard to miss a producer like CurtBeatz. While mainstream hip-hop leans more and more toward the watered-down sounds of synthesizer pop, Curt emerges on the scene with a passion for musicianship that hits his listeners like a breath of fresh air.
Curt premiered in the music world behind a drum set at his church at the prime age of eight. After less than ten years, hed go from breakin it down to breaking records as the first student in Houston to earn the states Outstanding Performer award for a multi-percussion solo. After graduating from the Dallas Sound Lab School for Recording Arts, Curt first dug his feet into the game with Dynamic Producer, a highly acclaimed international organization geared toward connecting the streets hottest producers with resources and networking.Fresh off the boards at the age of 22, Curts unique ability to blend elements of blues, funk, acoustic rock, and classic R&B into soulful hip hop beats has heads turning nationally. He produced Pimpin and Money for Lil Keke of Swisha House and worked with Def Jams K-Ruger before he passed away.
He also produced How Real is GOD to You and We Gonna Win for award-winning gospel rapper Lil Raskull, as well as several tracks for Austin-based independent label Nuf-Sed.
While he may represent the third coast as Houstons secret weapon, Curts style goes beyond any one sound or region. He can recreate the screwed up, bass-booming beats of the dirty South or play with melodic samples and snares in classic New York fashion. As a musician first, Curt composes tracks that are slowly wrapped, twisted, rewound and layered against a careful arrangement of instruments and rhythms. Although recognized for his drums, he will vibe on the keys and romance the microphone to enhance a track, quick to spit a hot hook or lay down a smooth piano riff.
CurtBeatz is sure to grace the charts in the very near future. Now boasting a catalogue of over 1000 beats and continuing to bang out edgy, head-bobbing additions to the list, he is eager and ready to make his music known. Im ready to knock down doors, he says with a smile. So open up your CD players, laptops and iPods and watch the doors come falling downget ready for CurtBeatz!I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
