We roam through hiphop’s various regions– the West Coast, the Dirty South, the East Coast, up North, uncovering top notch talent, and exposing the artists that deserve the shine. Within the broad scope of hiphop lies many subcultures and genres, each with a unique vision of what hiphop is. As you travel outside the Bay and across the country into different regions, more and more hiphop genres and styles present themselves, each adding to the broad definition of what hiphop is.
The aim of Built from Skratch is to expose the top artists that make up hiphop’s “Four Elements – MC’ing, DJ’ing, Graffiti, and Breakdancing.†These are the artists that are expanding the culture and the reach of the music.
