Known affectionately as Ra-Ra "The Party Starter", Gaithersburg, MD native, Rashad Jenkins has become a recognized force on the Washington D.C. nightclub circuit. Reputed for his high energy approach to hosting a party, this powerhouse of talent and charisma has fueled a 6 year rise into the D.C. nightlife industry positioning him as one of the areas leaders in event hosting, and coordinating. In 2005, The Washington Post Sunday Source labeled Ra-Ra as the "Party Starter."
Supa Scotty a.k.a. "Mr. SO WHAT!" was born and raised in the Washington, DC area, he has witnessed the evolution of promotion and marketing in our nation's capital over the past 6 years. Referred to as "Grown & Sexy" on the mic he grew up in a household where music and media was a fad. Music and media have now become the soundtrack to his life. In addition to event hosting and emceeing, Scotty writes, voices, and produces commercials, drops, liners, sweepers, promos, etc. However, he is never content or stagnant, so in addition to all of his accomplishments, he has now added the title “DJ†to his repertoire of skills. With aspirations to be a jack-of-all-trades, he truly is trying to live up to the name SUPA.
In January 2002, Ra-Ra & Scotty along with 3 other close friends, formed The IDC Group, LLC. IDC an acronym for Innovation, Dedication, and Creativity, the four young entrepreneurs sought to bring something new to the D.C. metropolitan area by creating a company that functioned as both an event marketing and promotions engine. Described as events for the grown and sexy, The IDC Group has seen a burgeoning company grow into a trusted source of memorable events for the young and successful D.C. market.
One of the shared responsibilities of The IDC Group was event emceeing, something that matched Ra-Ra & Scotty's energetic personalities. Natural's on the mic, they began receiving requests from major club proprietors in search of emcee's able to maintain an energetic pace for their key evenings and events. Within a year's time, they both built reputations as two of the most in demand emcee/hosts in the metropolitan area.
With a schedule that touts a Monday thru Sunday routine, Ra-Ra & Scotty have hosted in venues such as H2o Restaurant & Lounge, Ozio, Avenue Night Club, the Zebra Lounge, Pearl, Paper Moon, Felix, Eyebar, K. Street Lounge, Steve's Bar Room, Bar Nun, Jin, Love, Ibiza, Ultra Bar, Gallery, Cafe' Asia, Zanzibars, Harrison's (Miami, FL), M Bar (Houston, TX) Pasha, Play Lounge, Heritage Restaurant & Lounge, Republic Gardens, Felix Lounge, Mirrors, FUR Nightclub, and 1223. One most recognized hosting achievement came in November 2006 as Ra-Ra hosted for Jay-Z during Def Jam's Jay- Z Hanger Tour with MTV in recognition of Jay-Z's debut album "Kingdom Come".
Ra-Ra & Scotty have emceed events with artists, celebrities, athletes, and marquee deejays such as Jay- Z, Memphis Bleek, Raheem Devaughn, R. Kelly, T.I, Young Jeezy, Carl Thomas, Slum Village, LisaRaye, Alex Thomas, Big Tigger, Michael Jordan, Gilbert Arenas, Clinton Portis, Thomas Jones, Marcus Washington, Michael Vick, DJ SnS, Biz Markie, DJ Quicksilver, DJ Analyze, DJ Alizay, DJ Trini, DJ Quiksilva and more... Organizing corporate sponsorship with radio stations, record labels and marketing groups such as Radio One's 93.9 WKYS, Infinity Broadcasting's WPGC 95.5, Hot 99.5, 99 Jamz in Miami, FL, Interscope Records, Sony Records, Def Jam, Vibe Magazine, and Automotive Rhythms.
