Gigs Edinburgh

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------ Hi, My name's Malcolm Harris. I like to rent venues and organise for bands to play. The way it works is I pay for the venue, the bands draw in the audience, the ticket sales recover the cost of the venue. Although I will do a certain amount of promotion, it is mainly up to the bands themselves to get people there. If a band comes without bringing an audience I probably won't organise another gig for them, and they won't have that great a time. There is usually 3-6 bands playing each night, and any profit made will go towards paying for the next venue.
This is a non-profit organisation. I understand there is certain risks involved here but I gladly take them. Mainly because it's good fun, but also for the experience!
I am willing to support many types of bands at different types of venues. More energetic bands at venues such as Studio 24, the 'Ark' and Bannermans. Other Jazz, Accoustic or Experimentally orientated gigs could be held at venues such as Forrest cafe or Henry's Cellar Bar.
I am seeking out some of the most promising unsigned bands in Edinburgh to play these gigs. However if you are an interested band, and I haven't contacted you, feel free to drop a comment- I'll definately check you out at some point.
