Swedish folk music in untraditional arrangements with influences from American folk music and blues.On the first album in her own name, Malin Foxdal has collected songs and tunes that have stayed with her through the years and are closest to heart. Se has worked as a singer for many years and with her powerful stage presence and expressive singing she has established herself as an artist with everything from blues and folk rock to theatre and classical music on her repertoire. Jag längtade contains traditional songs, mainly from Dalarna, but also poetry by Dan Andersson and Edith Södergran, put to music. The album is a close-up of a singer and of folk music, with powerful lyrics in focus.Malin have had great reviews and the album has been elected to “Top Album of the Year” in several Swedish papers. Her new live act also contains songs by C.M Bellman, E. Taube and Swedish translations of Gillian Welch.
