About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Farewell was spawned in the swampy outskirts of Fort Myers, Florida in late 2004. This experimental acoustic rock project was derived by Bob Hewitt, Mark Bunton and Randy Bunton after the disbanding of Progressive Rock band, Idiot Savant. Seemingly shortlived, Farewell's members have been emersed in the regional music scene for nearly 16 years. 1989-2001 Randy and Mark were touring, recording & performing non stop with their progressive Rock band NULL and VOID. Bob Hewitt joined the group in 1999. After several Independent albums, three compilations and a number of record deal offers, the band disbanded in 2001 citing a "Time to do something different". In 2002, they regrouped forming Idiot Savant. Further developing a Progressive but ambiant sound...they added a Heavier edge to what had become a signature sound with the help of vocalist Rob Keyes. From 2002 to 2004, Idiot Savant toured the state of Florida and struggled to keep things together in a somewhat dying music scene. By the end of 2004, the guys once again needed time to regroup. However, Mark Bunton, Bob Hewitt and Randy Bunton started dabbling in their own recording immediately. Taking this chance to experiment more but reinventing their direction by taking up multiple instruments and losing the Heavy edge they had come to embrace for so long. Although it seemed a risky decision, in no time Bob Hewitt began to compile a number of acoustic songs that have now been polished and released on their first Independent Album title "FAREWELL ....the way things were" This studio album was recorded & produced by the band at 808 studios. With each member playing a range of different instruments from acoustic & electric guitars, bass, keyboards and piano. But more importantly focusing on a vocal section that has now drawn them to a different crowd. It also started a fire that now has spread throughout the United States and around the globe. Farewell has already turned down a few record deals and will continue to do things Independently on their own terms. The band makes limited appearances deciding the music was worth more than the small clubs and holes the band were accustomed to playing for over 16 years. Instead they have decided to do Bigger venues for a more diverse audience. Farewell has recently wrapped up their follow up Cd titled, FAREWELL Vol 2...The Serpent's Vine. Bringing in former members of Null and Void. Adding drums and picking things up throughout the Cd. Featuring Special guests Dave Hogan, Brian Kuhn, John Boyd and Tim Monos, this Cd offers something for everyone. The buzz is, Pink Floyd meets Alice In Chains!FARWELL Vol 2 / The Serpent's Vine is now available....ask me for one!!!! * * * *FAREWELL___________"LIVE" at ROCKSTARZ 3 / 26/ 2008 performing "NOTHING PERSONAL"..This is a Great site to test your wits..
