About Me

"The discovery of song and the creation of musical instruments both owed their origin to a human impulse which lies much deeper than conscious intention: the need for rhythm in life… the need is a deep one, transcending thought, and disregarded at our peril." -Richard Baker-***I DELETED MY SONGS FROM THE MYSPACE PLAYER. ***I DELETED MY SONGS FROM THE MYSPACE PLAYER. MY SONGS ARE NOW PLAYING IN THE WIDGET PLAYER ABOVE DUE TO THE MYSPACE PLAYER HINDERING SOUND QUALITY***Started with piano lessons when I was about 9. Didn't play much piano overall but picked up the guitar at about age 11 and have been playing for about 19 yrs. I've been in bands before but I grown more fond of the production of music rather than the performance. I guess this is true simply because I like to do everything myself rather than compromise other people's ideas but I still like to jam out and record with my friends every now and then. I'm now at a point where I want to try new things and push my musical boundries. The production of electronic music and drum programming has always been a mystery to me up until now. I still love to play guitar and still do but I've found that this new genre of electronic music gives me more opportunity to be creative because there are so many directions, combinations and algorithmic variables. Rather than just a guitar, I can now build synths, soundscapes and programmed drum modules from the ground up. I'm also discovering with breakbeat and cutting techniques, you can do things that drums cannot. Anyway, eventually I want to push for a drumnbass/rock mesh. Am I a DJ? I don't think so. I do not remix. I create. -Check out my personal profile at www.myspace.com/dpr1234
