If my music sounds raw and scratchy its because it is. I make all my music with analog synths, not cpu software. Although I know there is more potential with software, I like all that scratchy original stuff. I have this old James Taylor album where he is in the studio, and a minute into the record cut, they mess up and start it from the top. Its awesome because you hear the studio chatter and its original.. and raw.. and you feel like you're there! ..
