Tethys Ocean (or Tethys Sea as it was also known) was the vast collection of water molecules that converged in great masses as the giant supercontinent Pangea slowly split in two. Driven by convection cycles deep within the Earth, Pangea began to pull apart forming the two smaller supercontinents: Laurasia and Gondwana. The ever growing distance between the two was filled in with water which became known as Tethys Ocean. The Black, Caspian and Aral Seas are thought to be the remnants of the Tethys.
In modern times, Tethys Ocean is an elastic power trio emerging from the depths of mediocrity, blasting past super-stardom, and heading straight for unpitied redemption. Our loose song structure allows for constant exploration of the distant reaches of the universe while maintaining a general conciousness known to the likes of supermarket checkout clerks. We can and do put our pants on one leg at a time. A few other things about us...well, Dave proudly hosts multiple mullet websites...MikeL can precisely identify the optimal time to interject flatulent harmonics into any song and MikeG is one of the world's leading experts in inner tube selection for tubing down Clear Creek in Golden. Any questions???
