STEEL CITY was formed in the summer of 09 by kids from various outlets in the Chicago Suburban music scene. Many of you reading this are probably thinking "Oh great...another devil wears prada/as i lay dying ripoff band." it is known by many that the world of heavy music is branched and full of barriers. This band is not here to coast along and ride it out, it is here to break through those same barriers that have been set in place.
Founded by ex SCARLA MYTH guitarist Leo Dambrosio, ex Diary of a Martyr drummer Dan Schlitter and ex I KILLED EVERYONE bassist Tom Minogue, the band was destined to succeed. After vigorous writing sessions and the departure of Leo, the group enlisted in the help of frontman Jon Berrong (ex IKE) and welcomed ex Diary of a Martyr bassist Tyler Sanders into the band. Filling the vacant 2nd guitar spot is close friend and solo guitarist Brad Pelka.
STEEL CITY is going to be something different, something to bring people back to the shows and bring some life back into local music again. We will play for you as passionate as possible to make it enjoyable for all.
