SALUD is a feature film that won "Best Screenplay" at this year's Beverly Hills Film Festival '09. Based on the award-winning short film JUNITO, it was written, directed, produced & stars, Cesar De Leon. As of now, SALUD is still being submitted to film festivals worldwide. It was done with the generousity of many men & women whom contributed their talent, time or both due to their belief in SALUD. In 2006, JUNITO won the "Best Short" award at the Rome Film Festival. In 2005 at the HBO NY Int'l Latino Film Festival it won the "Best Shorty" award for the young lead actor, Reymond Wittmann equivalent to a "Best Actor" award. As a result JUNITO was picked up and aired on SiTV Cable TV. It also played in worldwide film festivals to the likes of LA, Texas, Miami, San Diego, PA, Greece, Italy, Germany & Cuba. SALUD SYNOPSIS:Salud examines the relationship between an alcoholic womanizer named "Carlos" and his young son "Junito." Carlos finds himself seven years too late, in trying to reunite with the child's mother "Mimi," who divorced the young father for being unfaithful. When depression and disillusionment overtake him, he slowly descends into a hazy, downward spiral of booze addiction. Eight year old Junito's refusal to lose his father to the bottle becomes a powerful struggle which leads both father and son to discover the true and sometimes painful meaning of unconditional love.
CESAR'S BIO: Cesar De Leon started his career as an actor on TV and films, starring in roles on LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, THE SOPRANOS, OZ, STATE PROPERTY 2, LAW & ORDER, commercials for SNICKERS, NY LOTTO, DASANI, SEARS, PUBLIX and recently for NATALIE PORTMAN'S directorial debut on NY, I LOVE YOU. In addition Cesar has done voiceovers for two Rockstar video games. First as a gang leader named "Hurricane" on THE WARRIORS. Then as a gang member on GRAND THEFT AUTO IV .
