Tracing Roots of Peace A Celebration of Peace"Peace Will Be When You Accept It In Your Heart” HiawathaJoin us as we Journey to Unity in Peace and Celebration through Healing, Sharing & CeremonyThe Tracing Roots of Peace event is a contemporary message of peace and fellowship in a time of turmoil and uncertainty. It will be conducted at at the base of Song Mountain,in Tully NY, known to some as the land of the Peacemaker. Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). Legend tells of Hiawatha wandering this land for months grieving the loss of his daughters. It is said that while grieving at Song Lake, he took notice of the beautiful purple and white shells known as Wampum. As the birds flew from the water his grief lifted with them- realizing he needed to forgive in order to find be peace in his heart.Collecting the beautiful purple and white shells, Hiawatha strung them on a piece of sinew. As he ascended the mountain, the Peacemaker came to him and spoke of each shell and the process of healing. As the Peacemaker sang a song of grief, he wiped Hiawatha’s eyes so he could see clearly again, his ears to hear the Creator once more, his throat so he could breathe without grief, and his heart to allow him to love again. As Hiawatha’s love returned, he descended the mountain with the Peacemaker and, together with Jikonsahseh Mother of nations, they prepared to share the messages with all who were ready. Our world of today is in need of hearing these messages of peace and forgiveness. As The message of Peace spread to all the People across the land, the fighting ended and the Five Nations created a unified government known as the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) Confederacy. It was this Democratic system which inspired the formation of Declaration of Independence for the United States Government.Harmony spread through the longhouse, and it was now that the Peacemaker stepped forward to Plant the Tree of Peace for all. It was his message that every weapon carried by one, was to buried beneath the tree, seen by all. The weapons of self destruction and annihilation were never to be used again. He spoke that the roots would reach out in all four directions, leading all people, regardless of background or belief, to the message he brought. If you truly seek peace in your heart, following the roots of the message would lead you home to your center, to shelter, to the peace that you seek inside yourself. It is in this Message that we base our TRACING ROOTS OF PEACE CELEBRATION. As People from all directions feel the pull to come together and celebrate culture, dance, music, food and the message of peace.Event ScheduleSaturday, Song Mountain, NY10:00 Opening Song and Thanksgiving by Adah and Diane Shenandoah Opening Dance Lori Puryer Story of the PeacemakerThroughout the Day EnjoyRenowned Speakers from Various Cultures on the message of PeaceMusic By Joanne Shenandoah, Spirit Wing, Christopher Scott Hamilton, Local Native Teen Singers and othersNative Artist Diane Shenandoah, Kelley Edwards, Leah Shenandoah, Jerry Shenandoah, Vikki Shenandoah and othersSpiritual Healings, Readings and demonstrations Roone Stahl, Luna, Jennifer Johnston, Mark FohsStory Telling various Iroquois Story Tellers will share throughout the dayTraditional Native DancingTraditional Foods Corn Soup and Indian Tacos and more4:00 pm Concert By Joanne Shenandoah Shenandoah has drawn upon her rich heritage in establishing a reputation as one of America's foremost Native recording artists. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Now is the time To embrace the message of the Peacemaker We Follow Our Roots to the Center of peace For the Unity of all People.Join us as we Journey to Unity in Peace and Celebration through Healing, Sharing & Ceremony Three individuals followed the message of their dreams and spirit guides to come together in 2007. In union, they have created a weekend of incredible healing filled with ceremony, music and sharing from all directions of the Northeast. The guides asked that the message of the Great Peacemaker be revived and relived in its people and all others who are now ready to receive it. The message was clear, now is the time to come together, to act in unison, to listen to the words and see with eyes wide open what the peacemaker came to share with his people so long ago.To Understand Peace Is To Live It. To Bring Peace Requires You To Have It In Your Heart First To Establish Peace Calls For Forgiveness. These Are The Messages That The Peacemaker Brought To Our Ancestors These Are The Messages That Are Now Ready To Be Embraced BY ALL- Once More. From the Ancestors, we heard: We have come together in this time to create the next step in our journey- a journey which now calls us to find in our hearts the roots of peace, our own roots in the great tree called peace. The generations have progressively forgotten the message of peace given so long ago...The message of peace is waiting and ready to be heard again, so all may wake up, this was our ancestors gift, we invite you to give yourselves to the message of peace once again. Are you ready? From all directions the winds will blow and the mountain top will sing with joy.The waters will flow and the people will come again to find the message within their hearts. It is time. Mother earth welcomes us. Father Sky brings us closer to our memories We will find the warrior* within; the warrior that lives his courage with wisdom and grace, who knows the heart of every man and every woman Who sees behind the face of any man to what lies inside And says, he is my brother It is the warrior of peace.* warrior: person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage and assertiveness.. real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
