About Me
Gabriel Johnson is a trumpet player and composer living in Los Angeles, California. Upon graduation from the New England Conservatory of Music in 2004, Johnson moved to Los Angeles and quickly began performing with some of the biggest names in music today. He has recorded/performed with Sting, Gladys Knight, Jill Scott, Paula Cole, Burt Bacharach, Jonny Mathis, Blood Sweat and Tears, Dave Koz, Chris Botti,Mindi Abair, Peter Erskine, Kyle Eastwood, and Lyle Lovett. His trumpet can also be heard on the soundtracks to several films, including "August Rush", "Everyone's Hero", and the acclaimed "Unlikely Weapon", a documentary on photographer Eddie Addams.Currently, Gabriel is working with Clint Eastwood, Michael Stevens and Kyle Eastwood on the music to the 2008 Clint Eastwood directed movie "The Changeling", starring Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich. Gabriel's trumpet will be featured in the movie, backed by an orchestra.Also in the works is his first album, due out in late 2009, which will feature many guests, as well as new original compositions with beat programming, orchestration and production all by Johnson.
