Ralph Carrasco

About Me

Ralph comes from a very large musical family. He began playing guitar at the very early age of six. In the early years he had the benefit of being taught by many family members which included his tata Ralph Moraga, who's style was Ranchera (Mexican country) type guitar playing. Then there was Ralph's father Alfonso Carrasco who's style was 1960's and 1970's rock fusion type guitar playing. He was a major influence in Ralph's music. Ralph was also inspired by his uncle Johnny Carrasco, who is a great guitar player well known throughout the east and west coasts.
Ralph was born and raised in Phoenix, Az and throughout his teen and early adult years he was faced with many temptations but his love for guitar and music kept him out of trouble many times. And when times seemed to be getting difficult he always looked towards music for comfort and escape. He also met someone who changed his musical direction forever that person was Vadim Babyrev a Russian jazz musician from Brooklyn, New York who played the Fender Rhodes piano. Ralph was greatly inspired by Vadim, but due to unfortunate circumstances they would no longer play together again. But Vadim will never be forgotten.
Ralph has played with such artists as George Benson, Jimmy Smith, Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience), Joey De Francesco, Jessie Mcguire, Leslie West (Mountain and West Bruce & Lange), Ginger Baker (Cream) Just to name a few.
