About Me

Myomi are Amber Jolene, Dylan Barnes and Robert Davy. Together they have been making music for 2 years now, formulating a new sound for release on the Southern Fried label sometime in 2008.
As soon as Dylan and Rob heard the first few bars of Amber's vocal on the 2003 single "Tell Her" they were sold. Dylan had met her earlier through a close friend, but it was in Ibiza that they made a commitment to working together more permanently. After a typically Ibizan experience together under the Mediterranean sun they resolved to make some music together. After many hours spent writing and coming up with new ideas together, the first single 'Sun In My Eyes' was born.

The lads are better known as House duo Mutiny. They have released numerous singles and albums around the world – including mix and artist albums for Underwater and Virgin and countless releases on their own Imprint Sunflower Records. There's also a host of remixes for noteworthy artists and labels including Robbie Williams, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Stereo MC's, a number 1 remix for Sandi Thom, Maxi Jazz, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Yousef, Steve Mac, Paul Woolford, Gus Gus, Shinichi Osawa (Mondo Grosso), EMI, Warners, Polygram, Universal, Southern Fried, Subliminal, Loaded, One Little Indian, and many more. They've also DJ'd around the globe and have played gigs with Amber on vocals at such events as the Exit Festival in Serbia, Womb in Japan and Ministry of Sound in Taipei.
Amber received a classical training whilst growing up in the south of the city. During the 1990s she developed a healthy obsession with the burgeoning Drum & Bass scene (frequenting the notorious World Dance events and Sterns in Worthing). Amber found her first steps into a recording studio, some 7 years ago, easy ones to make. Having made the move into the heart of town, she set about checking out everything the scene had to offer and also made the stylistic move to the world of house. Several sessions with producers in and around London were the result, culminating in the recording of "Tell Her" in May 2003. With a remix by one of Soulfuric's top producers, Richard Earnshaw, on the flip. On release, it was on the Ibiza playlists of everyone from Defected's Seamus Haji and Brian Tappett to Mutiny and Paul Jackson, was heard around the island all through the summer and sat in many a DJ's box for months afterwards.
Amber's alter ego is as an in-demand DJ (playing disco, soul and rock 'n' roll at venues such as Shoreditch House, Babushcka, Medicine Bar, the Lincoln Lounge, Push It!, Es Vive (Ibiza) and AKA) and name-checks a suitably wide-ranging selection of singers - from Peggy Lee's breathy jazz tones to the funk swagger of Betty Davis and the blue-eyed soul of Carole King. A favourite anecdote Amber tells at this point is of singing onstage with none other than Wilson Pickett at the age of only 18. Whilst on holiday in Spain, Amber went to see the great man in concert and at the end of the gig he asked any singers in the audience to come up to the stage. Never one to turn such a great opportunity down, Amber duly sang a number with a soul legend and brought the house down. The next day, the town's papers bore the prophetic headline "Se Lleva Una Estrella" ("A Star Is Born").
Rob and Dylan's influences are wide and far reaching, Mutiny have a long history best checked in-depth on their Myspace page. Needless to say their long musical partnership has seen the boys make a myriad of great tracks dating back to 1996.
The three of them together are Myomi. A new project with a new focus, an attempt to push their collective musical boundaries a little bit further – exciting times lay ahead.
