Since you were interested, well… License & Registration started with Chase Strom (Lead Guitar) and Alex Adams (Bass Guitar). Chase a skillful guitarist constantly creating new riffs was a great start for the band. Adams a developing bass guitarist constantly pushes himself to be better and tries to throw in his “two centsâ€. Chase and Adams worked with a temporary drummer and guitarist to make the band work (hopefully they don’t read this). Not truly having a name it went under "Oatmeal Monkey†thanks to a random band name generator (never use those). Together they pulled their skill and had their first live in a Variety show at Severn School playing “Float On†by Modest Mouse in the spring of 07. The unnamed band making one composition soon fell apart but Chase and Alex both stuck together with thoughts of making another band.
Through the Music Club at Severn School they met Brad Gowland (Drums) and Alex Coffin (Lead Vocals) in search of joining a band also. Brad with tons of musical experience was a welcome addition to the band, Coffin a new face on the music scene brought a hard hitting vocals and melodic lyrics to get his voice heard. With the members together all that was needed was a band name, and with driving permit test fresh in their minds they came up with the name "License & Registration†(about time I get here right). The name is original yet cliché said by some, but a solid band name none the less (It is better that "Oatmeal Monkey"). Constantly practicing and creating new songs to share with everyone they worked tirelessly. In January of 2008 L&R made their first recording putting under the name of Drive Faster Ep. L&R brings a union of straightforward lyrics with intricate and innovative works, and promises to bring something new to the table in the near future.
