I am here for Friends

About Me

THE OUTLINE OF MY LIFE* I was born and raised in New York City. * In World War II, I served as a paratrooper, gaining notoriety for pushing a piano out a fifth story window in Frankfurt. * Congruent to my approach to Art, I married a flamboyant woman after the War. Our daughter became an Andy Warhol Girl. One of our grandsons became a sophisticated Pop music star. * In the postwar years, I developed association with the artists John Cage, Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, Lou Reed and Karen Black. * In league with my friends, we developed Fluxus Art, wherein the structure of reality can be penetrated and perception changed through a presentation and participation in chaos and impulse. * In 1962, I began to create "Happenings", and in 1965 wrote: " A Primer of Happenings and Space/Time Art". * In 1977, I co-founded the Punk Rock venue "The Masque" in Hollywood, California with Brendan Mullen. Minimalist Punk bands entertained as participants with the crowd in a frenzied atmosphere. * That same year, I managed the minimalist Punk bands The Controllers and The Screamers. Later, I managed Penelope Houston in San Francisco. * In the late 1980's I moved to Germany where I continued my art in the Fluxus approach with The Ultimate Academy. There I wrote "An Introspective". * In 1995 I passed away. I am remembered by my loving family. I thank you for your interest in my life. More will be written to come, beyond the scope of this outline. DOA Dan G. Davis, M.A.
