I Am Who I Am - FEVER
It's Where My Beat Lies!
Born Mawande Tsoliwe 25 years ago, Fever’s blood always overflowed with musical notes. Thanks to the support of his parents Lehae and Velelwa Tsoliwe, he was able to enroll in one of the best music programs of the time. The move to Queenstown only strengthened his musical resolve and he was able to adjust very quickly. There he natured this talent and flourished under the tutelage of the school's best teachers especially in the woodwind instruments. Mastering the theory was second nature, but a curiosity always plagued him. He wanted to do more than just recite existing pieces of music, but instead write and compose music. As he grew older, the piano became a true fixation of his. Feeling that this was a complete instrument, He went to study classical piano mastering great pieces from Bach and Mozart. This was round about the time he first met his true love House music. It was not love at first sight though. House music was stepping on the toes of his loves at the time; Hip Hop and R&B, but what intrigued him about this new form music were the limitless boundaries of creativity. It seemed to him you could get away with a lot of disobedience at the same time exploring new ideas. It was not until 2002 and though that he really began to plough all his energies into the art of House music production. It was at this point he was introduced to the world of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation). Realising he couldn’t compete in the crowded DJing market. He solidified his efforts in the production room. This was his element; this was where he felt most comfortable, most at home. Although he lost his father to renal failure in 2008, it became his breakthrough year non-the-less as he got a chance to work on a couple of tracks with Frances best. Soon thereafter he signed with Sweet Tooth Entertainment as the in-house producer. Fever is currently hard at work on his first album under Sweet Tooth Records, which will be hitting the shelves in 2009.
