I am here for Friends

About Me

"The Navy estimates that its sonar training activities will "take" marine mammals more than 11.7 million times over the course of a five-year permit" (Members of Congress Mike Thompson and Henry A. Waxman). That's approximately more than 267.123288 marine mammals per hour that will be "taken" from September 2009 through September 2014.

My friends and family I ask that you take at least 10 minutes of your time today to learn more about the Navy Warfare Testing Program and their five year warfare testing program in the Pacific Ocean. This will affect marine mammals, their habitats, and the coasts of California, Oregon, and Washington. It will "affect coastal communities, businesses, endangered leatherback sea turtles, sea birds, and the list goes on. Our marine habitat and the public will be exposed to highly toxic chemicals such as Red and White Phosphorus, Depleted Uranium, Chaff, Aluminum Coated Fiberglass & Flares, Lead, Lead Chloride, Chromium, Benzene, Toluene, Nathelene, Ammounium Perchlorate, Potassium Perchlorate, and more chemicals which are known to be toxic to man and marine life alike. Not to mention the contamination of the earth's air, water, and soil"(Peterson) You have the ability to analyze, critique, learn, and decide for yourself what you think of this situation. This is an important time to utilize your mind. You do have a voice!!! Please let it be heard. WRITE, SPEAK OUT, PETITION!!! AT LEAST FOWARD THIS E-MAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW LET THEM DO THE RESEARCH AND DECIDE! Research this for yourself!
Love, Lauren

Stop the Navy from "taking" 32 species of marine mammals in their 5 years warfare testing program in the Pacific Ocean

The United States Navy and the U.S. Department of Defense intend to expand their Northwest Training Range Complex. Their draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), dated December 2008 has an August 30, 2009 deadline for public review and comment. The expansion of their area of warfare operations will include the State of Washington, more areas in the State of Oregon, part of the state of Idaho, Northern California, and large areas of the Pacific Ocean along the Pacific coast. (The extent map designating this program area also extends throughout Northern California to the San Francisco Bay area under an "Extent Map Warning Area" designation).
