About Me
Currently I am a "Band of One" as I usually do solo work as a guitarist/vocalist. My influences are legion, ranging from my first exposure to "Folk" music thru The Kingston Trio and Peter, Paul & Mary in the 60's whilst in the School of High. I soon found "truer" folkies like Ian & Sylvia, von Ronk, von Schmidt, Cowboy Jack Elliott, Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Mississippi John Hurt, etc. Then there was Dylan; and Dylan went Electric; and it was Good!Of course, Folk Rock was born. The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Poco, CSN&Y, the Dead. And, don't forget the British Invasion! The Beatles rocked, The Stones rolled, Cream curdled my brain, the Who, Zeppelin and, well... What can I say?!I think I was privileged to be at such a formative age when such a tremendous explosion of musical change took place. From the 50's with Elvis, Buddy, Little Richard, Jerry Lee, Roy, Patsy, and so many others. Motown, R&B, you name it, I listened to it! (Well, most of it)I know for every one I've mentioned there are three I've forgotten. So be it.So, now I'm a very confused Old Phart who loves to play and sing and kick out the jams at Open Mics and parties and such. I am finally retired so I got myself a new guitar (a Taylor T5 Custom) and a PA (a Fender Passport 500) and I'm ready to begin life as a gigging musician! We'll see!
