Influences: I do not just remix any old track that comes 2 hand,the songs i decide on remixing are more often than not linked either 2 my youth or have influenced me at some other point in my life. Coming from a highly urbanized part of london its not surprising that my influences are as varied as they are many,thus allowing scope for remixing artists from as wide a spectrum as Eva Cassidy 2 the Foo Fighters (genius),R.Kelly 2 Paul Young, and of course the motown and stax classics. From what I can remember of it I spent most of the mid to late 80's doing the warehouse/open field thing,which was a fantastic time,pure love in the house.SUNRISE,GENESIS,HELTER SKELTER,BIOLOGY,ENERGY,VERTIGO. As a fresh off the street raggamufin type straight from performing at a dance hall to walking into Tony Colston Hayters apocolypse now (later going on to co-form the highly enjoyable sunrise events) complete with a 30 foot tall Batman banner that kept winking at me!!!! This was definetly a big culture shock,HUGE.As soon as th dj played the first bar of Raze's Break 4 love,my life had forever,irreversibly,no coming back changed,he then went on to smack me up with some Marshall Jefferson,Adeva,Ten City,I knew it was a special moment when not only did he play phil collins in the air tonight,but backed it up with the theme music from the blue stratos advert,fantastic!!!!! Anyone that knows me would say that my first & main influences would have 2 have come from the reggae,sound system gendre, as true as that is, for frequency/sonic reasons i tend not 2 remix reggae tracks as such,but the reggae influences are there for all 2 hear in the bottom frequencies of pretty much all i do.
