Band Members: Newsflash: 38 Special is not "special" and there is nothing "classic" about classic rock......Who are we meeting currently?.....Female vocalists who want the opportunity to sing more than the "usual" songs like Heart or Benatar. We also plan to mix male and female lead and work out harmonies......Solid bass players, vocals a plus but pocket playing and learning the songs right is more important. If you like to learn a cover by "writing your own bass lines" this is not the project for you......Things are coming together quickly with quality players. This project will put extra time and effort into vocals and harmony.....So who are we? New band playing modern music with a fresh sound. Members are seasoned locals and area transplants.......Whats the best way to contact you? Feel free to contact me at: mikecazzx at yahoo dot com - Bandmix can sometimes not notify of new messages. ...... Do we have rehearsal space? Yes. It is in (West) Portage Indiana, minutes from 80-94 and Rt. 51. ..... I am from the Chicago area, is there a train? Yes. We are less than 5 minutes from a South Shore Line Station. .... Do we have a P.A. System. Yes. There is a new system at our rehearsal space. ...... What is the schedule? Members should practice on their own and be available 1 time a week for the full band. Preferably a weeknight to leave time for yourself on weekends. ..... So how serious is the band? We plan to sound professional and still enjoy ourselves. Every member should be valued and respected. ..... So is jamming or partying cool? Not really, we are beyond those days and those players and drama. ..... What is the sound of the band? Melodic Rock, country crossover, alt.country ..... So your a country band? We strive to mix country and rock in our song choices so that we cannot be classified. For example: No songs about mudflaps, beer drinking or John Deere tractors. No one wears cowboy hats or chews tobacco. ..... This band will seek out and play fresh music and will stand out from the usual crop of local bands.
Influences: Sugarland, Little Big Town, The Wreckers, The Beatles, Wilco, Paul Weller, Aimee Mann, Al Green, Neil Finn, Norah Jones, Modern Country (can you say harmony?) Some Jazz, Some Folk, anything with a great hook, melody, lyric or harmony.
Sounds Like: Sounds like...Modern Rock, Rocky Country, Radio friendly Jazz. Emphasis on vocals and a well balanced sounding band.
