Cristian Tomas Borneo....Was born in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 29th, 1981. He started hitting everything that surrounded him since he was a child. When he was eleven he began to study in "Luis Gianneo" conservatory of music Mar del Plata and with Fito Carrizo. After seeing his excitement for music, his mother bought him his first drum set . During that season he spent most of his time listening and practicing over his favorite records. He also played drums in church and for different pop-rock bands when he turned 16 he begun taking classes with Javier Puyol and when reaching 17 he decided to start studying at Berklee (Buenos Aires) and started also taking private classes with Fernando Martinez(hermeto pascual,tom coster) Studying at Berklee gave him the opportunity to learn harmony, arrangements, and so on. Since he was 16, he also started to do clinics in his city and others in the district. He competed in the "Torneos Juveniles Bonaerenses" and won the Best drummer award (1998 and 1999). Year 2000 has been maybe one of his best years musically speaking, since he had the opportunity to go to Los Angeles Music Academy and study with his "heroes": Mike Shapiro (Sergio Mendez, John Patitucci, Frank Gambale, Andy summer), Ralph Humphrey (Frank Zappa, Wayne Shorter, Al Jerrau), Joe Porcaro (Joe Pass), Aarn Serfati (Arturo Sandoval), Mark Shulman (Cher), JR Robinson (studio Legend), Mike Parcker (Studio Drummer), Sherman Ferguson (Dizzy Guillespe), Tony Inselaco (Oscar Peterson, Buddy Rich Big Band). While in La muscicacedemy he got the chance to play with some great musicians (Otmaro Ruiz,Brad Rabuchin,Steve Billman ,Jerry watts JR ,Dave Pozzy and so on) He could also see all the great musicians every weekend in L.A.. He came back to Argentina and begun playing with many different bands .In April of 2002, he won a scholarship to study at Berklee (Boston). In 2003 he recorded with shanna in miami (glory music) and gave some private lessons around Miami.ALso tought at Glory music School at Miami. He is actually playing with El Rejunte (covers pop-rock), El Orbe (fusion-rock) Track Trio (Jazz- Fusion) and doing some live dates as a session player...He plays betwen 3 and 6 times a week. He is also teaching in two contemporary music schools and privately.In december of 2004 He played at the BUENOS AIRES INTERNATIONAL FEST. In Year 2005 he has been busy Playing with Pablo Olivares ,the christian rock artist sensation in Latin America,nominated for the Latin grammys 2005,won two Arpa Awards at Mexico and is been nominated for the doves 2005, and they are planning to go to nashville to record they new cd ,produce by Canzion .
