Slow Painful Death

About Me

The Original name of the band before they became Borgo Fucking Pass. Est. 1992 Original Members include... Tommy Crane, Joe Wood and YT. Paul Rosado joined SPD a short while after the start of it all. It's a good thing for Borgo that Paul left that crappy cover band. It's also a good thing for BP that one of the first singers (George Koehler)needed a beer after a scary date and Joe Wood was working at 7-11. He was cranking Black Sabbath on his radio in the store. That was the true connection right there! SPD Needed a drummer and Joe wanted to play lots o Sabbath!!! SPD Played mostly B side songs that nobody were playing at the time. There were many cover bands out there who played all the same crapola and SPD Got sick of hearing it all, so they formed the band that started it all. They mostly played Obscure Black Sabbath songs that got everyone's attention and even added some more b side songs that nobody was playing but everyone enjoyed hearing. There was even that mechanical Bugs Bunny thing they did and it went right into 2112 by Rush....Shit like that ya know...they even used to play Lots of great Zeppelin, like The Rover, Out on the Tiles, Custard Pie, and stuff like that there. They did some AC/DC including Big Balls, TNT, I'm a Rocker and more. There was a time they even played Godzilla by BOC, a wicked version of Bloodstains by Agent Orange, and even Intersteller Overdrive by Pink Floyd. So it was very obscure and diverse yet still always heavy. These boys started to worry about the name (which everyone who has seen SPD always loved the name...it was unique) so they decided to look for another. They have recordings of the old stuff they used to play and it went under the title SPD/Gearth. Yes Gearth was the name of the band for about 3 - 4 weeks until Joe Wood found one of the coolest and uncopied names yet.... you guessed it...Borgo Pass which is pronounced Borgo Fucking Pass. One of the first shows done by SPD was a kick ass Halloween show and there was some temporary members at that time (just didn't work out ya know) This show was the actual start of it all. When the lineup was competent enough, they opened up for an insane festival on Long Island to nearly 1000 onlookers who rocked to many Black Sabbath songs and just a small handful of originals. Great responce and it was fucking fun!!!Now, SPD is only a memory, but the remains are all worth the while. For without Slow Painful Death there would be no Borgo Fucking Pass!Slow Painful Death (Lives on)
