Oniel Kenyon was born and raised in Kempshill Clarendon Jamaica, where he lived with his grandparents who raised him as a Christian. He attended the Kempshill Secondary school, (now Kempshill High).
He started deejaying on the streets while attending Kempshill Secondary. He was into drama and music at both school and church, but just engaged in these for fun. He is inspired by Professor Nuts and started writing songs in the year 1992.
He got his first break when he entered and won Louis Fraser Bennett’s ‘Ready Fi Buss’ and then got signed with her. His first show was at the Cactus night club in Portmore St. Catherine (JA). He has also performed at the Clarendon Cultural Centre and other places in addition to the numerous talent contests he has entered.
Mr. Straight, a member of the Musicians Union, is a talented and determined artist who is known to make lyrics on the spot. His songs are hot, funny and his lyrics conscious. He is now producing his own songs and has released his first major released single entitled ‘Puss Gone’. Mr. Straight has written a variety of songs including Cultural, Dancehall and Gospel music.
Mr Straight is love by the ladies and most of his songs are written with the ladies in mind. Furthermore, when it comes to free style, Mr Straight is the best.
