Balaclava was formed back in winter 97/98 as a four-piece Vegan Straight Edge band, inspired by such bands as Refused, Abhinanda, Earth Crisis, Facedown, Chokehold, Culture, Unbroken, Strife, Nations On Fire, Mainstrike...
After couple of shows played, Helena joined the band as second singer but after recording of our debut 7†on Hopewell records she left the band...
Back at four, we recorded songs for split 7†with our friends of The Old Testament and had the best of times while touring with them.
In 2003, Vojta joined us on second guitar and new chapter of Balaclava’s history was about to begin. Nowadays we are no longer Vegan Straight Edge band, but five different individuals who love to play music together while remain outspoken about various issues...
And with new influences and our hearts on fire, we still stand for cruelty free lifestyle and keep on spreading positive message...balaclava kids, december 2007We have no more shows planned since Jakub is away travelling and we just don..t feel right to carry on without him at the moment. Two of us keep on playing together, holding the flag with the new band that will soon be ready to play shows.
