Gawdzye (Gods Eye) is a Metal band based in South Weber, Utah. The band is a four piece with individual influences ranging from the mighty Led Zeppelin, to the powerhouse that is Pantera. They have a Southern Metal, very heavy groove sound, which is beyond infectious. With guitar hooks that dig in deep and refuse to let go, fueled by drums that are felt with the concussive force of anvil fists and a kick measured only on the Richter Scale. Both complimented by bass lines that induce a feeling of serenity punctuated by momentary, but hostile, insanity. All finished with a voice that has the devout intent of not only sharing pain, but invoking it. With songs such as “5:5” and “Waste Not Want Not” peaking aggressions levels, and “For(God)Sake” and “Dose of Reality”, peering into the soul. Gawdzye has tapped into a sound and feeling unique only to them.
Gawdzye has left its mark on numerous venues across the Wasatch Front. Playing in front of crowds insistent on moving in as close to the band as possible, and at times occupying the exact same space. In direct response, both Andy, on guitar, and Steve, on vocals, have absolutely no hesitation about bringing the music to the masses and regularly invite themselves into the mosh pits while performing. Leaving the stage, and musical backbone, to a brooding bass reined by Soss and the enthroned Chris behind the drums.
The members of Gawdzye are proud of what they have. Their dedication and desire are apparent both on and off stage. An act surely not to be missed, but more important, four guys looking to make as many friends as possible.
