It's not about what you have, it's about who you have.

About Me

Phil Green is one of Philadelphia’s best kept secrets. He is unknown to most but his name does ring bells to some artists that are in the industry. Phil has been writing and producing songs since the tender age of thirteen. He was one of the founding members of a group called Blakemale in the 90’s. The group was managed by Vance Debose and Jay Hips (Momma’s Boy Management) who later introduced the nation to the Philly sensation “ Music Soul Child” and “Aires”. Phil wrote and produced many songs for Blakemale with the Legendary Philly International composer Larry Gold. The group landed a recording contract with Reletivity Records. A Sony Label that housed such artists as “Fat Joe”, and “Bone Thugs in Harmony”. Blakemale was the first R&B group to sign with the label but unfortunately for unknown reasons the group was dropped. Phil Green left the group to pursue a solo music career. After Phil’s departure Blakemale landed another deal with Philly International records and put out the popular song “I don’t Care.” Meanwhile Phil was touring Europe with a Motown recording act called “The Whitehead Brothers.” He did backgrounds on their hits’, “Your love is a 187, forget I was a G, and Sex on the Beach”. The Whitehead Bros. are the sons of the late great John Whitehead who wrote the tremendous Philly International hit “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now.” Phil’s father also wrote a big Philly International hit in 75’ called “Then Came You,” performed by Dione Warwick and the Spinners. His Dad’s song went Gold. After much experience in the R&B industry, Phil's outlook on life has changed and now he wants to make music that brings glory to God. His goal is to reach the lost with music that is heavily R&B, hip hop influenced but with a positive message. The name of His debut gospel album is called “Testimony.” Written, produced, and performed by Phil Green. The album is a statement of all Phil has been through in His life and how God kept him even in the hard trying times.
