World's Greatest Yarnstress

We'll be like Romeo and Juliet, though not quite as dead.

About Me

That circle is around the Faroe Islands. Now everyone knows where it is! I am passionate about God, knitting, coffee, and Scandinavia. I had a whole bunch of stuff on here, but then one day it dissapeared. It was a sad day, and I've avoided doing this ever since. One day I'll make this section Fantastic. Someday when I have something worth writing about.

My Interests

I love trips of any kind. I like picking people up from the airport. I like taking the train (and I don't mean the El or the Metra. I mean like cross country) I have found that Any kind of trip is enhanced by the people you travel with. I despise cigarette smoking. Too many of my friends smoke, now. Please quit! I love/hate ambient light. I love sitting out doors and reading, or just talking with people. I like going out for coffee, and I think the ideal first date for me would be to go to a bookstore, and compare tastes. My dream guy would show up at my house randomly to take walks with me. My dream date would be driving out to the country for a few hours just to see the stars.

I'd like to meet:

If you are just looking to add to your online harem, look elsewhere. There are plenty of girls on here somewhere with their boobs hanging out that won't mind being one of your many "friends" of a similar nature, but I am not one of them. I expect respect. Nor do I want to see your naked pictures. Go waste someone elses time with that. I would love to meet people who love Jesus, travel, coffee, knitting, music, movies, books, and Scandinavia.People who won't become someone they're not in order to please other people. People who don't try to change who I am just to suit their wishes.

Music:

Apparently, I forgot to mention, I HATE country music. Generally, whatever bands my friends are in, I'm a fan, or even a band mom. Mostly Hardcore, though I spent Cornerstone getting back to my Punk roots. Haste The Day, Underoath, Dead To Fall, Theodore, Man Alive, Mercury Radio Theater, College Radio Heroes, Flatfoot 56, Lovedrug, Forever Changed, The Wedding, Sigur Ros, Jeff Buckley, Braquet, etc.And to my everlasting suprise, Bjork.

Movies:

My current favorite movie is You Can't Take It With You. It's just a great movie. I do love the A&E six hour long version of Pride and Prejudice, though. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, LOTR, Star Wars, Snatch, Die Hard, Swingers, The Transporter, Motorcycle Diaries, Amelie, Beyond Borders, Donnie Darko, Ordet, almost anything with Colin Firth in it. Anything by Wes Anderson. Crazy random kung fu movies (Story of Rickie, New Mr. Vampire, Shaolin vs. Lama, Kung Fu Hustle) Westernized Bollywood musicals like Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice, and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and too many of the great old classics to count. Pretty much anything with Audrey or Marilyn. Or Amanda Bynes, and yes, I realize that makes me a dork. (actually, my dorkiness makes me a dork, but whatever.) I don't like horror that I can't laugh at, I don't like psychological thrillers like Arlington Road. It freaks me out.I Heart Samwise!

Television:

LOST, The Office, M*A*S*H, Home Movies, Family Guy, 21 Jumpstreet, Black Sheep Squadron, The A-Team, Barney Miller, Trick My Truck, Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, Jeeves and Wooster

Books:

The Bible, Authentic Beauty, Stitch N' Bitch, Stitch N' Bitch Nation, Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, The Great Divorce, Blue Like Jazz, Searching For God Knows What, A Severe Mercy, Velvet Elvis, Through Painted Deserts, Girl Meets God, An Unfinished Life, The Shop on Blossom Street, Yarn Harlot, A Good Yarn, To Own a Dragon, and currently reading Knitting: A Novel, Jesus Has Left The Building, and A Year With C.S.Lewis.

Heroes:

I'm stealing this from Stuarty, just because he put it so well, "Jesus is my all time hero because He didn't let stuff get in the way of His love for people, He just loved them for who they were." Deborah in the Bible is one of my heros. Big time leaders came to her for advice. She was running Israel. She had a deep relationship with God, and He blessed her with wisdom. Something I desire greatly. My other hero is another Debbie. Debbie Stoler of Stitch N' Bitch fame.

I got an email stating that Sony Immage Station was closing, and that I would have to move my pictures or loose my pictures.  So I went on, and this is what I found: my dts, in the faroe islands...

I'm in my Wanderlust frame of mind, again.  Fall does that to me.  I think it may have something to do with the fact that so many people are going off to college, and then I look at my life,...

Hooray for friends in far away places.

Though I would love it if they all lived nearer!!!  It makes me happy that I was in touch with all three Holmberg girls this week!  AND I was actually able to put some money INTO my s...

I've become a recluse, of late.  I've decided that I prefer rereading Harry Potter over and over again to dealing with the realities of life.   Noelle is leaving for Switzerland at th...

I've decided that it's time for me to make up a prayer list, again.  I'm going back to the basics, as they say, in my walk.  On the top of the musicians section will be Lou from Gasoline Hea...

the only downside of today was when that 60 something year old lady called me "Ma'am".

Otherwise, it was pretty good!  Work was fine, tv watching and sleep were both pretty premium, and now I get to go to sleep, again.  No real complaints....

never accept a 43 year old man with the song "Lips of an Angel" as a friend on MySpace.  That is the second creepiest song on the face of the planet, after Clay Aiken singing "If I Was Invisible"...
