About Me

It's a two-letter personal prounon indicating selfhood.

My Interests

You know, I really try to concentrate on coming up with new interests all the time. But for now I like reading, knitting, video games, existential conversation, animals, constant apology for things that aren't my fault, eating, drinking, smoking, art, music, dreaming about being out of school, travelling, and looking up words in the dictionary.

I'd like to meet:

some people.

Music:

The only thing I've bothered to program into my channel presets is Public Radio. Off the radio, I dig (in no particular order) Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Modest Mouse, David Bowie, The Beatles AND The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, NOFX, Toots and the Maytals, Billy Joel, KMFDM (or MDFMK, whatever), Primus, Bach, The White Stripes, Radiohead, Beck, Sublime, Fiona Apple, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Björk, The P-Funk All Stars, Cake, Manu Chao, Emir Kusturica and the No Smoking Orchestra, Ravi Shankar, Reel Big Fish, Weezer, The Grateful Dead, System of a Down, Wu-Tang Clan, Del The Funkee Homosapien, Blackalicious, Latyrx, Common, Control Machete, Ben Harper, Cibo Matto....sigh. I could keep going, but you probably get the idea.

Movies:

Death to Smoochy, The Life Aquatic, Best in Show, Big, Black Cat White Cat, Brazil, O Brother Where Art Thou, Fight Club, Trainspotting, Singin' in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Casablanca, those Harry Potter movies, the first Matrix movie, most of Star Wars, The Princess Bride, The Hotel New Hampshire, The Life of Brian, Kung-fu Hustle, Serenity, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (that's the Gene Wilder one), The Piano, The Pianist, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Shaun of the Dead, Novocaine, Ghost Dog, Cannonball Run, Kindergarten Cop (come on, don't front like you didn't love it when it came out), Top Gun, The Lord of the Rings movies, The Big Lebowski, Clash of the Titans, The Labyrinth, Memento, Casino Royale (the old one!!!!), Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Basquiat, City of God

Television:

Don't have one. I watch Computervision, or "At-My-Friend's-Housevision"... Family Guy, Ren & Stimpy, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Sealab 2021, The Venture Brothers, Samurai Champloo, The Simpsons, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Futurama, Kids in the Hall, Mr. Show, South Park... And I used to love stuff on Public Television like Antiques Roadshow, Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, 'Allo 'Allo, and other nerdish things like A&E Biography, Trading Spaces, and Kung Fu movies dubbed in Spanish.

Books:

I read them. My cat likes to eat them. Some of the ones she has consumed after finding them on the floor include: A Prayer for Owen Meany, The Hotel New Hampshire, The World According to Garp, The Cider House Rules, Catch-22, The Wanting Seed, The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, Ishmael, Ringworld, The Princess Bride (yes, you should read the book), Eats Shoots & Leaves, Odyssey, Stranger in a Strange Land, East of Eden, The Old Man and the Sea, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Oliver Twist, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit, The Chicago Manual of Style, occasional older Anne Rice books (junk food reading), Veinte Poemas de Amor y un Cancion Desesperado, Harry Potter everything, Dostoyevsky's The Idiot, and god knows how many Norton Anthologies of various types.

Heroes:

Turkey with lettuce, tomato and mayo.

Matriculation

I'm now revelling in the beautiful (hopefully short) period of time wherein I have just graduated college but haven't found a job yet. Sigh. I think I'll dance around in my pajamas more before making ...
