Debut EP Fall 2009!
Boogie Monster is an experimental thrash two-piece that filters Lighting Bolt's thunderous riffs through Godspeed You Black Emperor's cinematic melancholy. Guitarist Ben Fussell started Boogie Monster in the fall of 2007 with Owen Lewis (Hung Jury, Bad Amps) on drums. Owen left for school during the summer of 2008 and was replaced by Tony Dallas (The SSRIs, Junior Major), whose tribal pummeling has pushed the band to new levels of intensity and brought him to the forefront of the Vancouver scene as one the city's most powerful drummers. Since playing their first show in early 2008, Boogie Monster has performed in the CITR 101.9's Shindig, local underground festival Music Waste, and shared the stage with local envelope-pushing acts such as the SSRIs, Terrorbird, Japandroids, Elton Bong, Shipyards, White Owl, Hermetic, Tight Solid, Role Mach, GR82000 and many more. They will record their debut EP this August which is slotted for a fall release and will tour the west coast this winter ..
