Juxtapozishin

About Me

Coming from a history of musicians, Juxtapozishin at age 15 entered the entertainment industry. With influences like; The Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Niravana, Smashing Pumpkins, and Bob Marley to name a few, It wasnt hard for him to choose the guitar as his first creative tool. Juxtapozishin played guitar in Ska, Rock/Reggae, fusion bands for 10 years. Hes performed at; Hi Point, Galaxy, Mississippi Nights, The Pagent, Creepy Crawl, STLLCC Meramec, The Way Out Club, Lemmings, The Red Sea and SoHo Café. At age 16 he performed with Vallium. Age 19-20 he performed with Arsenic Orange and The Kinetics. Age 21-26 he was steady with Mr. Spliff and 9 Mile.In this crazy world of diversity Juxtapozishin was exposed to so much more then just rock and Reggae. His ear for Soul, R&B, Rap, and Funk was stimulated by artist like, Herbie Hancock, Zapp, Barry White, Ice Cube, Tu Pac, Prince and Parliament. While in his bands, Juxto produced these genres on his laptop computer, with one of St Louis popular house disc jockys, Trevor Matthews over his shoulder. Juxto would mix his creations over Trevor's smooth house grooves, to help compliment his production skills. Not only were Juxto and Trevor high school buddies, and room mates, they also worked together for one of the biggest party promoters in St Louis, The Boogie Knights. This was also more food for his creative ear. He heard many different styles of electronica and that only added fuel to his fire. Along the way he partnered up with local female disc jockey and music producer Vinyl Bitchie, and shes now his co producer. A new sound for Juxto was born. His music flavor surrounds all genres, because of his true love and passion for music.Currently, Juxtapozishin is producing music for St Louis local rap artist Deadline, doing drum programming, music production, and sound editing for various local artist from rock bands to disc jockeys. His music has been used as music beds for local radio station 105.7FM The Point, played on the air on 89.5FM The Wave college radio, and also at The Oz Night Club, played by Legendary Dj Gary Mac. Juxto is now included in the list of incredible House disc jockeys in St Louis. In 2005, Juxtapozishin stood behind the wheels of steel to control the music masses. The genre he chose was tribal house. He purchased some turn tables at a local pawn shop and decided to go record shopping online, when he heard this wonderful deep drum filled vibration ringing his ears. This sound was a breath of fresh air to him because it was different from most House that he had heard. Instantly he was in love. His exciting new dj career has landed him gigs at various house parties, U-Lounge, and St Louis Mardi Gras Celebration Feb 2006.
