Poem of the Day:
a summer fantasy
And in that place of power laid
Upon the rock where ancients prayed
Within those stones a circle made
To sanctify our tryst.
So when that hour before the Sun
Exalts the sky, the day begun,
Speak silent tongues, our penance done,
Prepare our holy mores to run
By Summer's zenith kissed.
First, turning to the south, to call
The Lord of logres from his fall
To rise and ride abundant, tall,
The road from avalon.
Then calling to the north to praise
The blood red veils, the ancient days
With cup of bronze to bless the ways
We travel through the Druids maze -
They call their children on.
Next, turning senses to the west,
The setting silver globe is blessed.
With dreams She puts us to the test.
Our courage must be strong
As bowing to the east we see
The golden fire which rises free
Between the stones, where empathy
Has granted us a right to be.
The dawn begets our song.
And now upon that rock is spilled
Your blood, and so the chalice filled
With ne'er so sweet a wine distilled
As from your body flows.
I lift the cup and speak your name -
The Sun within its stony frame
Burns stronger now to seal our claim.
We sacrifice to sacred flame
Which all around us glows.
Now drinking from that brazen bowl
I taste the essence of your soul.
Communion which makes us whole
Between our lips is born.
Still lying on that altar stone
Our bodies for the world atone -
Two hearts which journeyed here alone -
The waiting elements condone
The congress 'tween us made.
Our bodies locked in carnal grace,
As one we move, our pulses race
Towards the crest of our embrace.
The sky burns black with fire.
And as we scream in ecstasy
The circle made of stone we see
Erupt in flame, our power set free.
Our sacrifice in harmony -
All nature our desire.-Tony
