I am music. My earliest influences were the fact that music played in the house all the time; Big Band, Jazz, Classical. I learned the basics of piano very early watching my sister practice, but I never had piano lessons. Got my first serious guitar for Christmas at age 13 and played the Junior Senior that year with the honkin' band in town. Those guys showed me my first chords and licks and steeped me in soul and early rock. I played all through high school and beyond. I did the family thing for a while and then a few years in a contemporary Christian group, then a midi group and various groups after that. My compositional skills began to be developed in the early 90s with the onset of computer proliferation and midi sequencing. I continue to compose, write and collaborate on musical projects.
Soul Kitchen has been a huge influence on me and my versatility. With the
Soul Kitchen experience you are paired with other musicians, poets and song writers to compose original music from scratch. That collaborative process has opened me to other ideas than my own and taught me not to fall in love with my own stuff, not to mention the opportunity to work with people from all over the world, different ages and nationalities. I can say that my musical range is very deep and I enjoy a wide range on styles and genre. My compositions may take the form of a classical style or an over the top, in your face, freelance psycho jam. I like fusion and new ideas, tones and musical flavors... anything to broaden my pallet.
On a personal note, I am an artist in every way I can be one including water color portraits , graphic design, web design and photography. I enjoy outdoor things, canoeing, camping, hiking, fishing, running, love to throw Frisbee:) and I need more Frisbee buddies. I love deep philosophical discussions and folk not afraid to go there and explore... Check my site. Thanks for stopping by.
