Do blondes have more fun? Cath Styles and Anna Log say “YES!â€
As proof, they’ve gathered some of the funniest blonde female comics in the country to join them in their debut Melbourne International Comedy Festival show, Extreme Blonde!
Since the invention of the blonde joke, blondes have endured being the subject of many a wisecrack with patience and virtue. All this is about to change, as extreme blonde sisters unite to take back the joke!
Extreme Blonde! is a show that exhibits some of the country’s best offbeat female comedic talent, by featuring a different special guest each night. Bringing the wit and wisdom of many years in comedy is Melbourne legend Bev Killick (also appearing in Busting Out throughout the festival); Sydney stand-up and actor Sally Kimpton (fresh from appearing in the US-based Last Comic Standing); the comedy queen of Byron Bay, Mandy Nolan (appearing in her own MICF show, She’ll Be Right); and funny girl Jodie J Hill (also appearing in Rooftop Philosophy during the festival).
Keeping it fresh is the talented Ellen Briggs (Raw Comedy finalist 2007); Melbourne funny girl Nicky Talacko, (also appearing in her own MICF show Cinder-effin-rella), and Brisbane comedy princess Vera Mackney.
DO NOT MISS OUR FINAL SHOW - ’EXTREME BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS’, an hour and a half group show, where (nearly!) all of the girls will show you why blondes really do have more fun! More blonde for the same bucks - now that’s value!
So come. You’ll laugh. You might even wet yourself a little bit, so maybe you should wear dark pants or put something really absorbent in your undies. It’s a girl’s night and everyone’s invited!
WARNING - This is not a show with blonde jokes, it’s a show with blonde’s with jokes. Telling blonde jokes at this gig, particularly on the last night, could be hazardous to your health! It might even put you in the hospital, so be nice and we’ll just tickle your funny bone instead of breaking your femur!
