He is considered to be a great pianist, composer, arranger and teacher. He comes from a musically influenced family. His father, Henry, is one of the greatest polish jazzmen and brother, Robert, is said to be an outstanding trumpet player.
In the year 1999 Wojciech Majewski graduated from Frederic Chopin's Musical Academy. He mastered in grand piano class. He played with many fabulous musicians, such as Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Tomasz Szukalski, Joe La Barbera, Henryk Miskiewicz, Palle Danielsson and others. Wojciech Majewski took part in numerous television, radio and audio recordings. Along with Robert Majewski Quintet, Wojciech recorded "Komeda". The album was very successful; it received many positive opinions amongst the critics and fans. Wojciech Majewski gave concerts in many places of the world like Denmark, Germany, Israel, USA and France. He took part in many prestigious festivals, such as Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw or Jazz Open in Stuttgart.
In 2001 Wojciech Majewski's first long play entitled "Grechuta" had came out. It contains jazz interpretations of Marek Grechuta's songs. The album achieved great success and gave the composer two nominations for the Fryderyk Award. In the year 2003 Wojciech Majewski released his second album entitled "Zamyslenie". The album occurred to be even much more successful than the previous one. Wojciech Majewski once again had been nominated for the Fryderyk Awards in two categories and received the Empik's Ace award.
Wojciech Majewski belongs to those types of artists, whose skills and versatility let him play jazz as well as classical music. From the year 1996 along with Jan Krzysztof Broja, an eminent classical polish pianist, gives concerts on numerous festivals and events. The duet released an album entitled "4 Hands" including the music of Brahms and Schubert. In the year 2005 they both gave a concert in the National Philharmonic. On fall 2005 Wojciech Majewski presented a number of lectures about Alexander Skriabin and his compositions. The completion of these lectures was a concert in Skriabin's Museum in Moscow.
In the autumn of 2006 Znak Publishers released Wojtek Majewski's book entitled "Marek Grechuta - A Portrait of the Artist" which has been a great success.
In the nearest future Wojciech Majewski tends to create his own music influenced by European music, not necessary connected with jazz.
