Hey guys! Ever since I was really little, my dream was to perform and make an impact on the world. For as long as I can remember I would dance around the house in tutus, butterfly wings, and other crazy outfits, singing to my favorite Disney songs and hoping to put a smile on my family’s faces.
My dream was to sing in front of as many people who would listen. I once told my mom how I had a vision of being in children’s hospital rooms and singing to them, hoping to put smiles on their faces. Little did I know that one day I would be the one sitting in that hospital bed, looking for the bright shining light that would guide me to health. I found myself with health problems that landed me in the hospital often. I was in and out of hospitals, missing weeks of school, and wasn’t able to live the life of a typical child. Due to my constant hospitalizations, I witnessed many upsetting things that a child shouldn’t have to see. I had to grow up really fast.
Although my health as a child hindered my ability to do certain things, I never let it get in the way of my dreams. Now, as a teenager, I’m proud to say that I’ve learned so much from my obstacles, and that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. No matter what life deals you, you should keep a positive outlook and go for your dreams, even if they seem extraordinary and unattainable.
Once it was evident to my parents that I really wanted to perform, my mom suggested that I try to learn guitar. At first I was reluctant. My first guitar sat under my bed for a few months, until the fateful day that I actually decided to give it a shot. I sat in my room and tried to teach myself, but couldn’t even figure out how it was possible to sing and play at the same time! After just a few days, I was hooked. Now, I write my own music and pour out all of my heart and soul into my lyrics. My favorite thing is to perform these songs in front of live audiences and take in all of their positive energy.
I recorded a few of my songs for my first demo at a professional studio in North Jersey. I’m thankful that I was able to work with the owner of this studio who is a Grammy nominee, and the producer of the new musical, A Tale of Two Cities.
I hope to serve as a role model, letting everyone know that anything’s possible “if you set your heart to it and you know that you can do it.†My music is my story, and I’m so excited to have this opportunity to share it with the world. :)
