About Me

Poor Mans Ferrari is a gumbo of musical seafood. Blues mixes with Grunge in the early part of the Millennium when Shaun learns how to play a six-string. Brit hashes a love for the drums practicing on tin buckets and rusty saw blades. Chris already knows how to play the piano and learns Rush by ear from the radio after playing guitar for just a few months. Jerry is an art student in High School. Shaun gets an amplifier, Brit gets a drum set and they start a band in 2002. The band disintegrates but an idea is born. Loud, aggressive rock and roll music like that of the late sixties. Songs that might have to go off into a tangent and improvisational jams start to show up in practice sessions with friends. Chris and Shaun have been writing songs together for a few months. Over a year passes before Brit and Shaun want to start a new band. Orlando returns from the first band to play Bass and they start playing house parties. One night in March of 2005 a mutual friend takes the mike at a house party and he is in the band before he is old enough to get into bars. The Duran Sessions is the first Demo from the band and was recorded Fall of 2006 in an adobe house in North-Eastern New Mexico. The album contains twelve original tracks and a cover of “I Wann Live” by the Ramones. Duran is a town with more stones in the cemetery than residents and serves as the definition of what the band is about; minimalist rock n’ Roll, no pretention intended, with soul and strength. "One-way High-way" the EP was recorded at Stepbridge studios in Santa Fe, New Mexico by Tim Stroh and represents the band with heavier tunes like “Dimebag Nation” and “Dog Eat Dog”. The disc also shows the Rock anthem side of PMF with “Duran Station”, while showing off some of their roots with the urban ho-down “(Poor Mans) Stomp”. The band can be seen around Albuquerque and the Southwest. And on YouTube. 2008 marks the third Anniversary for the band and a new Bass player, a familiar face, Chris is the four string man and keyboardist. PMF will start working on their first full-length album in the Spring. The band will be producing the album themselves and it will include road-tested as well as brand new material.
