Blue Moon

About Me

Blue Moon is a band in Birmingham, Alabama with a sound that echo's classic rock without slavishly imitating their influences. Lead singer Aaron Marefka generates the lyrics and melody while guitarists Ben Reed and Sam Davis provide the riffs that produce a true rock n roll groove. Bass player, Jordan Rickerson, carries the rhythm of it all with his walking bass lines while drummer, James Thompson, keeps the rhythm and grooves rollin' with his work on the drums. A key-sense of melody and a sound that they have established as their own has allowed Blue Moon to wake everyone up and give the world something to talk about...Blue Moon has played with great bands such as Blind Melon and Lynam among others. They have played great venues such as the annual Birmingham City Stages, Workplay, The Nick, Metro Bistro, Cafe Firenze, The Magic City Brewfest, The High Note/Rock-n-Horse, and many others. This October they will be playing in the 37th annual National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. They have been featured in the Birmingham News - City Scene and had mentions in other publications.
