You have reached the Official Myspace Page of James Williams AKA SinceriousJ. I am a poet, writer, actor, artist and lyrical musician. My first loves are my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my family. After that, Hip Hop has my heart. My favorite movie asks the question, "When did you first fall in love with Hip Hop?" In the movie "Brown Sugar", Sidney 'Syd' Shaw, played by Sanaa Lathan, is a magazine editor, and that is the first question that she asks when she is interviewing an artist for her upcoming article. When she is prompted to answer the question herself, she can remember the actual month, day and year. Now Im not able to narrow it down that close, my memories not that good, but I do remember exactly when I fell in love with Hip Hop. I was in 10th grade out in Newport News, VA. I was at Woodside High School. There was a huge Hip Hop following there at the time and the main group at my school was called N'Famous. It was a collection of emcees, dancers and producers, which I think is still partially together now. But anyway, getting back to the story. It was lunch time, and I was sitting at the table and I remember looking behind me outside and seeing a large group of people all in a circle. At first I thought it was a fight or something and I really wasnt trying to be apart of the drama. But I didnt hear any yelling or see any punches being thrown, so I went outside to check it out. Now this was Virginia in the winter time. I dont remember when exactly it was, but I definiftely remember it was winter because it was freezing outside, and I remember thinking, "There must be something reeeally exciting going on, because these fools are crazy to be standing out here in the cold". So I get to the circle, and there was a cypha goin on, though I didnt know to call it that at the time. There was a cat who was b boxin and there were three or four cats in the circle all takin turns rhymin. I remember sittin there thinkin to myself, "Man, thats tight". Now I had heard people rap before, i.e. the radio. But I had yet to be exposed to true freestyle rhyming and true lyrical composition. I had yet to be exposed to True Hip Hop, and this was my first taste. And since then it has been an ongoing love affair between Hip Hop (DeeJaying, Emceeing, Grafitti writing and B-Boying) and I. Whats your story? When did you fall in love with Hip Hop?I am always looking to link up with those who share the same love for TRUE Hip Hop and who partake in the movement of Hip Hop FOR the LOVE of it. If you 'fit the build' hit me up, or if you wanna just chat it up about Hip Hop, do a collabo, or anything else . . .HIT ME UP!
