About Me

I live in Sydney and am an avid traveler and love gettin' to places that not many others even think to go. Have lived in a few different places around the globe - Japan, Italy, the UK for a little while. When I get bored, I move on.

My Interests

I am really into travel and have been to about 20 countries. Plan to go to a lot more.I also love water sports - especially free diving and sailing. My perfect boat would be a Swan 53 that I could take anywhere shorthanded.I also love writing and photography - especially if it has to do with travel or getting away from civilisation. And I am an internat addict.

I'd like to meet:

Ocalan, Tariq Aziz, Idi Ahmin, Mullah Omar, Chuck Tayloy a bunch a strippers and a case of whiskey - that would be a blast of a party. But seriously, other travelers and adventurers. People who feel like there is more to life than a mortgage and a Mercedes. Anyone who wants to figure out how others think and why. Anyone who gets bored by being comfortable, dry, well-fed and in control.

Movies:

Lord of War, War Photographer, Fog of War, Star Wars, War of the Worlds - are you spotting a theme here?

Television:

I hate the thing. If you watch Big Brother, then please click away from my profile immediately.

Books:

Currently reading Shake Hands with the Devil by General Romeo Dellaire - the Canadian General who was in Rwanda for the genocide.I like first person accounts of strange places - people who are adventurers without putting on the crappy marketing spin.

Heroes:

Anyone who gets criticised by the mainstream press for being wreckless. Tony Bullymore (the round the world sailor) springs to mind, John Martinkus - the journalist captured in Iraq a few years ago, James Nachtwey - the famous war photographer.'Heroes' might be a bit strong of a word, but I certainly have time for these types of people.

The Newbie

The problem with posting a new blog on a service I have never really used is that nobody will ever read it. Oh well.
