My Interests

Books, music, dancing, drinking, and being sarcastic as I can get away with. I prefer to do all of the above in cities and towns that I've never been to, or that I have to travel great distances just to get the oppertunity. Books may be my first love, but it's traveling that defines who I am and what I do.

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to meet some of the DJ's that have inspired many a quick night of typing for college deadlines. That list would include John Digweed, Plastic Man (aka Richie Hawton)Sasha, and Carl Cox. Outside the music realm I would give almost anythig to speak with my favorite fantasy author Robert Jorden, who's world I lived in almost as much as mineArmy Airborne video

Music:

Once-a-pun-na-time I was a Ska-boy before becoming a wannabe Punker. I used to go to the shows, razz the nazis that would show up and then dodge beer bottles the rest of the evening. All of this changed the night friends of mine dragged me kicking and screaming to my first rave, the rest is history. I found that I prefered getting hugs from candy-kids than ducking fat sweaty skin-heads. I'm not a raver anymore but I still need my DJ's to stay happy. Break-Beats, Jungle, Deep-House, and Drum and Bass

Movies:

I love Sci-Fi, most animation, and some independent films. My favorite movie of all time is the old black and white film Harvey, with Jimmy Stewart. I like it because the lead charcter, Elwood P. Dowed is the embodyment of everything I would like to become some day. He's polite, pleasent, and never cross with anyone or anything. He's not stupid or ignorent, he's just realized that life is about more than becoming what others want you to be. To quote the movie "I wrestled with reality for thirty years, and I'm glad to say I finally won out. Because in life you must be oh so smart, or oh so pleasent. For years I was smart, I recommend pleasent...

Television:

Long live Adult swim, the history channel, and the science channel. I can't really get into anything else that comes on prime time these days, and I'm not really looking to try, if I find anything else I like I might start watching.

Books:

Books are my first true love. I've been reading mystery, sci-fi, and fantasy novels since the fith grade. I graduated to my first books on philosopy and theory the summer of the sixth grade when my gradfather gave me a 1915 copy of The Confucian Cannon, and Darwins Evolution of the species. Since that wonerful summer I've tried my best to devour every book that crosses my path, from great stories, to the great theories. I particularly enjoy reading chinese philosophy (Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, Allen Watts) But my favorite series is Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" It's too deep to describe in a little blurb like this but I recomind it for anyone with a year or two to burn while they read it.

Heroes:

As Cheesy as it may sound I look up to my parents a great deal. I Respect the way they alone in their famlies overcame their roots and were able to see the world. From a couple of Kentucky kids to world travelers that managed to get away from all of the problems that plauge alot of people from the south. My parents were able to give me the world, and all they ever asked in return is that I try to be a decent person. Hero is not too strong a word for people that give so much and ask so little.

The simple life in the country

I found myself standing before a dark cave, wanting only to enter, and shuddered, afriad that I may never find my way out. I read this quote years ago in a white wolf publication and it was the first...
