My name is Laurence. I am a small-time graphic designer and website maintainer. I'm a self-taught artist, which means that even my comics aren't going to wow you, and I don't know much besides HTML. And not even the cool, complex DHTML, just plain HTML.
I am 20 years old and an alumni of ITT Technical Institute. I have my (virtually worthless) Associates in Multimedia and am currently working towards getting myself out of massive debt. I was a major school buff before I went to ITT Tech, but now I am a soulless husk, doomed to walk the earth until my great-grandson can slay the twenty-three century old NetherDrake which only really exists in the collective hearts of humanity.
During my break from school, I've been practicing my webcomicing. I have a couple of webcomics that I've either stopped updating completely or update so rarely they don't really count as webcomics.
Gray Matters is the comic that i've been doing since July of 2007, fairly regularly, however. I usually do at least 2 a month, which isn't bad for 3-4 page spreads. They are exceptionally text heavy, and fairly high-brow, so I'm sure Gray Matters scares away 90% of my traffic before they even take a look at it.
Hence why I created Out of Context , a new journal comic of mine. It only updates once or twice a month currently, but if I manage to simplify the drawing process enough and get enough good ideas regularly to increase quantity without losing quantity, then I may start to update it more often.
I used to draw alot, but hadn't in years. I'd been reading tons of webcomics while I was working at PC Club, and decided that if was ever going to get back into drawing, I would need to schedule myself practice. Webcomics have become a major artistic exercise and an outlet.
My website is Cyphimedia.com but I don't have much up there besides my comics. I plan to do alot more to the site, and perhaps put more content up once I rebuild it in php, but, just like, y'know, learing php, there's no real timetable on it.
I also have a growing collection of art on my my Photobucket account , including two subfolders of avatars I made for forum lurkers of Giantitp.com .
