Dj Cortes

Well I was probably 10 years old or so when I was at a hall for a family party but all I can remember is standing near the DJ and watching him work and I just thought it was so cool that this 1 guy was controling the whole crowd. Some years later, I thought, hey I want to try and be a DJ! He was actually a family friend and still is and we've become friends as I got older. So when I was about 13, I got two old school single disc CD players right around the time when CD's took over for cassette tapes and I got a mixer that I hooked up to my parents stereo system. From there it was on! I made mix tapes a lot and Dj'd some school dances around the city. Eventually I upgraded my system when I went to college at Umass Amherst and continued to develop my skills. I joined a young DJ company there but hosted a lot of parties at my off campus house with my 7 roommates which was cool because it was a huge house and 3 of the guys were in a band so we'd do the parties together. I really started to master my mixes after college and hit the Worcester nightlife in 2002. So here I am and I don't plan to stop anytime soon! I like to incorporate various genres of music in my playlist as the Mash-Up mix has become very popular; gotta change with the times! I love playing the Bars & Clubs but also book a lot of Mobile DJ events such as Weddings, Corporate functions and other Private Parties. Feel free to drop me a line for any booking information!
