Out By Sixteen Or Dead In This Scene

About Me

Caligari began in the summer of 1998 after the demise of the bands Floodplain, and Saqqara. It was started by guitarist Tim Munce, bassist Terry Taylor, vocalist Ryan Redman, and drummer Matt Mcfarland. After a line-up change, Terry took over as vocalist BJ Anderson then became Caligari's new bass player, Matt Buol joined in on second guitar, and Adam Jones became Caligari's permanent drummer. Caligari was started with the determination to accomplish: such as releasing records and touring as much as possible. The fuel behind its formation was to have fun playing music while retaining the purpose of communication and in hope of making a vital connection between emotions and sound. The lyrics for each and every song have a meaning and a reason behind them, although their somewhat ambiguous nature doesn't always spell it out. The lyrics are personal to an extent and are mixed with Terry's love for horror movies and the darker things in life, but are written with the hope that listeners will be able to connect with them. The music has progressed and changed over the years. It has become more brutal, emotional, and original, yet it still retains the metal sound of its roots. The spacey, technical feel of Caligari's music has made it tough to classify the band.Caligari's self-titled full length on Init Records, is a blistering showcase of what they have to offer. 8 tracks of spaced out technical hardcore. It's Caligari's second full length and light years ahead of anything they have done in the past.Discography: Remains Of Something Important CDR (self-released) Daydreams Of A Somnabulist CDR (self-released) split 7" w/The Spirit Of Versailles (Init Records) Out By Sixteen Or Dead In This Scene CDR (self-released) self-titled CD (Init Records)

1st practice

Well, we had a full instrument practice this last Saturday. It was fun to play with the guys again. Looks like we will be playing Nutty's Mar 8 at the Init Records showcase. Hope to see you all there.

Its been about 6 years...

There is a chance there will be an old school line up "reunion" show Mar 8 in Sioux Falls with The Blinding Light. We are still trying to sort through all the details but it is looking good right now....
