My new venture is the Works of Musical Art Project. The goal is to give a variety of musical instruments to my favorite local artist to paint, render, carve, smash, dent, or tickle with a horse hair brush. The crazier the artwork on the musical instruments the better! The artists have yet to be determined as I believe in going with the flow. Where ever the flow of life takes me to see a gig when I have an instrument to give, I will when the mood strikes me. My goal is to support the local music and arts by creating a one of a kind series of musical instruments painted, abstracted, destroyed, or anything creative, by the top local talent in Dallas. National Acts and Worldwide Artists are welcome to join in if you are interested please contact me for your free instrument to render your artwork on. The final showing of all these works will hopefully appear in one of the many GREAT GALLERIES in Dallas within a year or more depending on many factors. The works will include a variety of other items including photos I've taken of the band or artist, their bio, headshots if provided, a CD or other media if provided including stickers, buttons, and any other current Merchandise that is provided. T-shirts may also be used as the background for the photo collage. I hope to sell these works and donate the profits to a good charity for starving artist and musicians, which has yet to be determined. It may be Charity Music, an organization that provides Musical Instruments to those who can not afford them. Support and Save the Music and Arts where ever you are. Scotty Mankoff
