Carsten Gronholz

Born in Bremerhaven Germany, he started to learn guitar around the age of seven. Some years later he turned to play drums and was involved with numerous local groups from a very young age while studying with local drum teachers. At age 17 he started to work professionally touring with Eddie Lockjaw Davis and Harry Edison and later with Peanuts Hucko, Buddy Tate, Gene Mighty Flee Conners and Wild Bill Davis, who where members of Duke Ellington, Count Basie , Glenn Miller, Louis Amstrong and Lionel Hampton Band. After that he played the Supremes European Tour. Having finished that, he was called for a tour with Joe Carter who was the legendary guitar player from Muddy Waters Band. In 1980 he moved to Munich- not only because of the beer and joined the Ambros Seelos Big Band. At that time he had a lot of studio work and made the soundtrack for the movie Ski Fieber. In the mid 80s Concerts, Tours, TV and Radio shows came up with many national and international stars. In 1993 Jack White, producer of many big acts, asked him to sign a major deal with BMG because of the songs he heard from him and his brother. Under the name Gronholz they produced and released 3 records which brought them to a lot of TV and radio shows. At that time he moved to the lovely island Ibiza in Spain, where he is still living and where he also has his recording studio.
