The Demigs
Denton, Texas
Full length CD, Yardling, available at Good Records and Cd Baby .
"Together, this youthful foursome creates a refreshing racket, new music that appropriates the proper elements of the (recent) past and makes agreeably fitful movements toward the daunting future," Darryl Smyers, Dallas Observer.
"Yardling is one of those special albums that through creativity, talent, and good production, sounds nothing like a first record. People should take notice. The Demigs have the formula down and are recognized by fellow musicians as having the components to break out of the local scene. Now it's just going to take the fans to step up and give them the chance this album deserves," Erin Rice, pegasusnews.com
"The Demigs' debut, Yardling, dabbles in Frank Black-style tension (album opener 'Solvents') and U2-esque grandeur ('98th Meridian'); Demiglio's slight tenor provides an intriguing anchor for these often moody compositions, fulfilling ambitions to be 'a pop-savvy vehicle ... to create a familiar, but distinctly original, way of making music,'" Preston Jones, Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Grassfight
Denton, TX
The French Schemes EP available FREE for download at grassfight.com .
"And that's the trajectory Grassfight has set for itself: Even now, barely a year and a half into its existence, the band is pulling out of Radiohead's orbit, adding elements of Joy Division, The Smiths and even a whiff of Kevin Shields. In fact, Forster is as confident about Grassfight's ultimate musical destination as he is candid about their origins: 'We're playing exactly what we want to play,' he says, 'and we're exactly where we want to be. Every practice we're getting better.'"- Dave Sims, Dallas Observer.
"Another Denton foursome worth seeking out. Nathan Forster, T. New, Nathan Reed and Travis Self make a lovely, haunted brand of music informed by such disparate influences as Johnny Cash and Radiohead (I hear Editors as well). Schemes is ideal for a nighttime drive to nowhere in particular; just be sure to keep the Joy Division-y [A]wful Cells on repeat."- Preston Jones, Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Caterpillars
Melissa, Texas
EP, Caterpillars, available at Caterpillars Official Online Store .
"Still, the Dallas band's lush arrangements of dramatically soaring pop are impressively full, particularly for a trio and such a new band. Singer/guitarist/programmer Chris Robinson (no, not that Chris Robinson) clearly knows how to craft a mall-worthy indie-pop song; his voice sails and echoes above a bed of reverb-drenched guitars, chirping samples and electronic beats," Jesse Hughey, Dallas Observer.
"Caterpillars are fantastic, and that’s the most effective way to put it. (No it’s not. - Editor) For such a young band, their polished melodies and light atmospheres sound miraculous. I almost suspect wrongdoing, but I won’t investigate for fear of bursting my own bubble. The five songs on this self-titled EP run the gamut from gorgeous to pulsing to dramatic to dazzling. Caterpillars use synths extremely effectively, so each electronic note adds to the experience rather than detracts from it. “Bury Your Wordsâ€, for example, burgeons to impressive depths with slight beeps and tricky drums. It’s full-bodied and intense while still being easy on the ears for those nights you need to relax. In this case relaxation does not imply boredom,"Blake Solomon, absolutepunk.net.
