I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

A photographer full of ideas and questions.I commit myself to a lot of deep thought and I'm always looking for a challenge.

My Interests

)music and sound, sound reinforcement, photography, photo equipment, journalism, making photo essays, film(esp. cinematography), designing of any sort, prepress, print press, graphic arts, posters, books...
anthropology, learning languages, people and my friends, dance, food/esp. spicy food, travel and adventure, bike rides, spunk, creativity, ergonomic design, minimalism, innovation, solidarity, people with a cause, SPONTANEITY, minds, catch phrases, catch phrasing, randomness, the color green, white walls or surfaces, toughness, stand up comedy, spirituality, my cultural roots, culture (generally speaking), cultural fusion/syncretism/ cosmopolitanism (Culture in ethnic terms and the cosmpolitan are two different entities. I'm fascinated by both which now leads me into an interest in urban city lifestyles -the big 'ol concept of a cultural melting pot deal that has it's international sophistication or worldliness), philosophies, political theory (not Politics), laughter,t-shirts, complexities, making lists, raw emotion, bad asses, people's sensuality, concept of mortal enemies being lovers (fuck romeo and juliet though), long naps (esp. in parks on a nice day), sky and star gazing, spending the night on sand in the tropics, thunder, going on "solo flights" while aimlessly wandering around taking pictures, peculiar semantics (sometimes, my own), bar crawls, concerts/shows/live music, big cities, seeing where I end up after a really long drive, life and peace.

I'd like to meet:

Partners in Crime. People with a cause and that mean well. Those who have a lot of ideas. People who are real (straight shooters not bull shitters).

Music:

"Almost" anything...too many to mention but in no particular order of genre or alphabet...I can't mention every single one!:
Sonic Youth, XTC, Deerhoof, Rolling Stones, Stooges including Iggy himself, Runaways, Television, Clash/Joe Strummer, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, T.Rex, The Mekons, Gang Of Four, Subhumans, Citizen Fish, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Mum, Enigma, Delerium, Massive Attack, Tricky, The Mars Volta, Helio Sequence, The Advantage, Kahimie Karie, Brian Eno, Roxy Music, Blondie, Talking Heads/David Byrne, Tom Tom Club, Ween, Friends of Dean Martinez, Spoon, Calla, Bjork, Beastie Boys,Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Sigur Ros, Ladytron, Cat Power(it's mainly because of Chan Marshall's morose-ness), Broken Social Scene/ Feist, Lhasa de Sela, Lata Mangeshkar, The Gossip, Big Black, Don Caballero, Arcade Fire, American Analog Set, The Verve, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Velvet Underground, The Black Angels, Wilco, Midlake, Critters Buggin/Skerik, JFJO, Benevento Russo Duo, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Captain Beefhart, Frank Zappa/The Mothers, DJ Shadow,Four Tet, Gorillaz, Aesop Rock, Police, Blonde Redhead, Tortoise, Stereolab, Air, Tricky, Put3ska, Eraserheads,Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Arturo Sandoval, Portishead, Juno Reactor, Meat Beat Manifesto, The Love X Nowhere, From Monument to Masses, Primus/anything Les Claypool, Gotan Project, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Duke Ellington, Monk, Mingus, Coltrane, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Sun Ra, Pharoah Sanders, Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman/Art Blakey, Herbie, Ella, Lady Day" (Billie), Nina Simone, "Satchmo" -yeah...a lot of jazz in all it's guises. I love Nina's rendition of Sealion Woman. Enjoy.
This ultimate endearing song. object width="425" height="350" Love this movie and love this song... :) awe!

Movies:

to name a few because there is too many: Chunking Express, Amelie, Delicatessen, City of Lost Children, Mirrormask, Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Breathless (by Godard circa 1960), God Is Great, High Fidelity, Kill Bill vol.1&2 Singles, Forrest Gump :), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (hehe)The Fifth Element, Animal House, Jerry Macguire, Pirates of Silicon Valley, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Stranger Than Fiction, Run Lola Run, Coming to America, Office Space, Do The Right Thing, and a lot more etc. I tend to watch more foreign films, documentaries to escape and indulge into Tasteful action movies with women leads(I can't help it. It's empowering in a way.).

Television:

series box sets are the way to go. i don't watch much tv anymore. I find that the computer is evolving into my TV because of YOUTUBE. Selective entertainment rules. Other than that, PBS, Food Network, Travel, Discovery and History Channel, Comedy Central and sometimes Adult Swim. My attention span towards television is 30 minutes and after that, I get extremely bored and irritated with the notion of sitting in front of a tube. I'd rather be out doing something or catching up on rest.

Books:

love it all!-considering it's still building up. Jose Rizal, William Blake, Oscar Wilde, Aldous Huxley, Ayn Rand, Anne Sexton, Isabelle Allende, Herman Hesse, Milan Kundera, Saul Bellow, Hunter Thompson, Gabriel Marquez, Barry Yourgrau, Henry Miller, Anais Nin, Virgina Woolf, Sylvia Plath, Sandra Cisneros, Jhumpa Lahiri, Zora Neale Hurston, Angela Hagethorn, Alice Walker, Goethe,Vladidmir Nabovok, Thomas Mann, Gunter Grass, "Live from Death Row" (Mumia Abu Jamal), The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Biographies, Music Bios, Short Story compliations, Ethnographies, Poetry and my Sound Reinforcement Manual, The Nikon Full Line Product Guide, The Design Index Series books, National Geographic traveling and more...
